Real-time PCR reagents
• Vector-borne diseases account for more than 17% of all infectious diseases, causing more than 700,000 deaths annually.
• Mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas tend to be most active during warm summer months, and now also remain active through warmer winters and milder autumns and springs.
• Expanded active periods mean busier vector mating seasons and fewer vector casualties over the cold winter months.
Tick-borne PCR testing
• 77% of all reported vector-borne diseases are tick-borne.
• Cases of tick-borne disease have been steadily increasing since 1994, with anaplasmosis increasingly occurring in the same geographic area as Lyme disease and babesiosis.
• An expanded active period and an expanded geographic range of tick vectors mean more people are at risk for tick-borne diseases such as anaplasmosis, babesiosis, ehrlichiosis, and Lyme disease.
• PCR is the most reliable detection method for species identification.
Mosquito-borne diseases
• The CDC states reported disease cases from infected mosquitoes, ticks, and fleas tripled in the years 2004-2016.
• Mosquito-borne diseases in the US tend to be epidemic outbreaks, and include chikungunya, dengue, malaria, West Nile Virus, and Zika virus.

Real-Time PCR testing for laboratories

MGB probe technology has long been the gold standard for hybridization probes that allow for melt curve analysis. Adding to our legacy of innovation, we now offer DSQ Alert™ probe technology, an evolution in MGB probe chemistry. Our DSQ Alert reagents feature our newest proprietary duplex stabilizing quencher chemistry in hydrolysis probes, offering enhanced signal-to-noise fluorescence and DNA duplex stability. All test reagents may be used on ELITechGroup MDx proprietary instrument systems and on most open channel platforms.
